Chris was a fantastic host as already mentioned by many other guests. He is very responsive and checks in periodically to ensure our stay was nothing less than wonderful. The instructions to the home was clear and was easy to find. Check in process was also easy and the place was perfect for our family with two little ones. The kids had fun running around. The views were great and it was a nice change of scenery from the busy-ness of city life. There were plenty of AC and heating units around the house and the kitchen was fully equipped. Beds and showers were also clean and comfortable. Our family had a memorable trip and we would love to come back again with our growing family. Thank you Chris!

Our experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had such a cozy, welcoming vibe. Everything was exactly as described, actually, even better in person! The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and all the little touches made it feel like a true home away from home. The location was perfect, quiet and safe. The host was incredibly kind, responsive, and thoughtful throughout our stay, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. You can tell they really care about their guests’ comfort. We honestly didn’t want to leave and would 100% stay again. Highly, highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and worry-free getaway!

I fell in love with River Haus Sequoia and its mountain views before we even arrived, and fell in love again once we did. We loved spending time on the porch bird-watching and listening to the Tule River (which we were sure to take a dip in!). The house was comfortable, unique and thoughtfully designed. The only cloud in the sky was the bed upstairs (so perfect!). We made wonderful memories as a family watching the moon over Slate Mountain and seeing the crows and hawks soar by, and also enjoyed the nearby Trail of 100 Giants. Though we didn’t get to try Pierpoint restaurant due to a power outage, we did try a couple places in Springville and echo Chris’s recommendation for Java Express (the croissant breakfast sandwich was great!). Cowpunchers was pretty good (mostly a burger place). And we loved Griffin’s Market for things like cold drinks, ice cream, fried chicken and lottery tickets 😅. Overall I’d recommend (as Chris did) stocking up on groceries in Porterville and cooking in.

Our stay at this beautiful home was truly unforgettable. The space was spotless and equipped with a fully stocked kitchen that made us feel right at home. One of the highlights was the relaxing jacuzzi, but what truly took our breath away was the stunning view of Sequoia National Forest—right in our backyard. We spent countless moments soaking in the scenery from the deck and the jacuzzi, immersed in the beauty of nature. The area offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, exploring, and simply admiring the natural surroundings. You might even see a local deer wandering across the grounds early evening. The host, Chris was incredibly attentive and responsive to messages, ensuring a seamless experience. Without a doubt, we will be returning!

We had a wonderful time at River Haus Sequoia. It was a very peaceful and much needed getaway located in a quiet mountain community. We loved watching deer. Although we didn’t see a bear, the neighbors told us that a black bear went through their yard one night. The entire home was clean and tidy and everything looked exactly like the pictures. The beds were fantastic as was the bedding. There were plenty of heaters to warm up the cabin when the temperature dropped. The cozy living room was perfect for late night movies and naps with plenty of snuggly blankets and pillows to cuddle. My favorite thing was the windows giving a panoramic view of the gorgeous mountains. We also spent many evenings relaxing in the hot tub and enjoyed eating meals on the deck while listening to the river. The host was very responsive and proactive in warning of a scheduled power outage. There really is no cell service in the area, but the cabin has wifi. Perfect mountain getaway!

We had the nicest time staying at River Haus Sequoia. It was incredibly peaceful and beautiful sitting on the porch or in the jacuzzi and being surrounded by the beautiful mountains. I do definitely recommend loading up on food & supplies before driving up to Camp Nelson as it takes about an hour of windy driving to get there. Totally worth it for a mountain retreat!
